The annual Mother’s Day Classic Fun Run along the South Burnett Rail Trail at Wondai has raised more than $3000 for breast cancer research.

Cr Ros Heit said it had been an amazing effort by the team of organisers and volunteers.

“Special thanks to those who donated raffle prizes and the Wondai Lions who cooked sausages and donated all the proceeds,” Cr Heit said.

About 70 participants took part, completing either 4km or 8km routes.

Cr Heit said $2200 was raised in registrations, $133 from the sausage sizzle and $692 from the raffles.

The Wondai event was one of 13 Mother’s Day Classics held across Queensland last Sunday.
