Well-known Kingaroy motocross rider Joel Evans, 30, died in hospital on Sunday night following a serious crash while competing in Round 3 of the 2025 Australian ProMX Championship in South Australia.
The rest of the meeting was abandoned following the incident.
Medical staff who were trackside at the Gillman Speedway rushed to assist Evans after he fell.
A South Australian police spokesperson said Evans was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but died on Sunday night.
Western District police will be preparing a report for the State Coroner regarding the incident.
