Police have again encouraged anyone who may have information about the disappearance of Jack McLennan to contact CrimeStoppers.

The 27-year-old was last seen between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on October 4 last year, travelling on foot in the Ficks Crossing area.

Since then, items of Jack’s clothing have been found by searchers as well as his wallet.

A vigil for the missing man was held at Ficks Crossing last Saturday following speculation on social media that the search area should be widened to include Kinbombi Falls.

However, a police spokesperson confirmed on Thursday there was no new information available about Jack’s disappearance.

“Police have conducted an extensive search for missing person Jack McLennan in accordance with best practice State search guidelines,” the spokesperson said.

“To date those searches have included significant resources from the Queensland Police Service, SES and members of the public.

“Police continue to encourage any members of the community to report information that may assist in the location of Jack to Crimestoppers on 1800-333-000.

“Police will continue to investigate any new potential lines of inquiry relating to this matter and any further updates will be provided to the family as a matter of priority.

“There is a dedicated family liaison officer appointed to Jack’s next of kin and continual regular updates are provided to them, specifically Jack’s mother.”
