Nanango Race Club has a new interim management committee in place and are hopeful that Racing Queensland may reinstate the May 17 meeting to the club.
The new interim committee, which will be in place until the club’s AGM in September, are:
- President – Wayne Hancock
- Vice-President – Des Schloss
- Treasurer – Andrew Manson
- Board Members – Zac Dennien and Tom Freeman
After the new interim committee was appointed, the three South Burnett councillors formally resigned from the previous interim committee, ie. Mayor Kathy Duff, Deputy Mayor Jane Erkens and Cr Deb Dennien.
The appointment of the new interim committee follows the mass resignation of the former Race Club committee on New Year’s Eve.
The resignations followed an ongoing dispute between a group of members and the former management committee over the past two years.
A Racing Queensland spokesperson told southburnett.com.au no decision had been made yet about the May 17 meeting.
