Men’s winners Tiger Kings have been competing in the annual Kingaroy carnival for four years … they also took out the title in 2022

February 6, 2025

Palm Beach-based Tiger Kings took away the Men’s crown – and the prize money – at the Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club’s annual Soccer 7s carnival at the weekend.

Tiger Kings defeated the Hervey Bay-based United 2.0 side, fielded by the United Warriors Football Cub, 1-0 in the tense men’s final of the two-day competition on Sunday afternoon.

The annual Kingaroy Soccer 7s carnival attracted 55 teams to the Tom Alford Soccer Fields in Kingaroy.

Many return year-after-year to take part.

In the Women’s final, last year’s winners Caboolture Cobras successfully defended their title – and took home the cash – by downing Gympie United 1-0.

Both teams had to survive penalty shootouts in the semi-finals to earn a spot in the final.

The Men’s Over 35s competition was taken out by Highfields who defeated Athletic No 2-0.

Two South Burnett-based teams, Booie Bullets and Solomon Kings 1, were eliminated in the Men’s semi-finals ensuring visiting teams took home all the winnings.

However, the carnival itself is a winner for the South Burnett, with hundreds of players and their supporters arriving in town on Friday to take part in two days of competition.

It was also a boost for the Kingaroy Girl Guides who collected empties for Containers For Change across the weekend as a fundraiser for the group.
