The Women’s Legal Service Queensland’s Rural, Remote & Regional Outreach team will be visiting Kingaroy and Murgon later this month to provide free legal advice.

The group will be offering free legal advice appointments on:

  • Monday, November 25 (afternoon) – Kingaroy
  • Tuesday, November 26 (all day) – Kingaroy
  • Wednesday, November 27 (afternoon) – Murgon

Women seeking advice should call 1800-457-117.

This helpline is available Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

“Services are also able to provide a warm referral for clients seeking legal advice in domestic violence matters,” a spokesperson said.

“Our team is committed to offering ongoing support to women in the area and will provide remote assistance to clients who seek support outside the time of our travel.

“We intend to visit these areas on a regular basis and will be returning in early 2025.”

  1. Please note… the only legal advice available is for domestic violence and family matters. Other types of legal advice are NOT available. I rang up on another matter and that’s what I was told.

    • According to their website, the WLS offers “legal advice and support with domestic and family violence, family separation or divorce, parenting, child safety and protecting counselling notes in sexual assault matters”. Their free Statewide Helpline is 1800-957-957, which is open 9:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

  2. Yes, that’s right, family-based things only. I wanted help with a Will, and was told they couldn’t help. However they did refer me to something called *The Hub* which is supposed to give free advice by phone.
