Could your community group do with $10,000? The Ergon-Energex Community Fund is now open for applications from not-for-profit groups across Queensland.
A spokesperson said Ergon and Energex were looking for initiatives that would make a lasting difference in local communities, including those with a focus on opportunities around renewable energy and sustainability such as solar, battery storage and energy literacy.
“We understand that Queenslanders could do with a bit of extra support in the current economic conditions faced by many communities, to see their organisation’s dreams come to life,” chief customer officer Michael Dart said.
“We’re encouraging all eligible not-for-profit groups to apply.
“This year, more than ever, we know the transition into renewable energy is at front of mind to bring down electricity cost pressures and impacts to the environment. We hope to see community groups reach out for support in the areas of renewable and sustainable energy solutions for their areas to support this.”
Applications can be made online, and close on November 29.
