Police searching for 27-year-old Jack McLennan have found a hat in Murgon believed to belong to the missing man.
The hat was found by officers on Thursday near Macalister and McLucas streets.
Jack was last seen between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on Friday, travelling on foot in the Ficks Crossing area.
Jack is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 185cm tall with light brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and dark shorts.
Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly a person who camped overnight in the Ficks Crossing area, to immediately come forward.
The person who police would like to speak to was travelling in a dark coloured vehicle with a roof top tent.
Search and rescue operations continued on Friday in the Ficks Crossing area and will continue over the weekend.
Up to 30 SES personnel will assist with the search on Saturday as well as additional police and remote aerial support assets.
Anyone with information about Jack’s whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
Nearby residents are urged to check their properties, including any outbuildings and sheds, for signs of Jack.
