A woman aged in her 40s has been airlifted to hospital after a serious single-vehicle crash at South Nanango on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident, at the intersection of Berlin and Chippendale roads, at 6:17am.

The woman’s 4WD left the road and rolled several times, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.

She suffered arm, leg and suspected spinal injuries.

The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight helicopter landed in a field beside the road, 5km from the accident due to thick fog.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said QAS paramedics drove the injured woman to the waiting helicopter.

She was then flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

A child in the vehicle was treated for whiplash and minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.
