The inaugural “Maidenwell Music Mix” – a festival which aims to put Maidenwell on Queensland’s annual music calendar – will be held this weekend in a special area behind the Maidenwell Hotel.
The three-day event is being organised by a new not-for-profit association which hopes to make it an annual event.
Multiple Golden Guitar-winning singer and fiddle player Pixie Jenkins is the headline act and will be playing on Friday and Saturday.
He will be joined on stage by a string of local performers, including Dean Perrett, RYZA, Mr Q and Amber Goldsmith (see program, below).
As well as raising the profile of Maidenwell, the organisers also hope to raise enough funds over the weekend through ticket sales and raffles to distribute profits to local not-for-profit groups.
Free camping is available in the Maidenwell sportsground area, next door to the festival.
Entry tickets are $50 (three-day pass) or day passes are available for $15 (Friday), $30 (Saturday) and $15 (Sunday).
Under 16s are free.
