Three young boys have been charged following the theft of two vehicles from Cowie Drive, Kingaroy, in the early hours of Sunday.
A Mazda BT-50 and an Isuzu MU-X were driven away from the house after keys were taken during a break-in.
Police on regular patrol spotted the stolen vehicles soon afterwards at Tingoora and began tailing them discreetly as they headed northwards towards Wondai and Murgon.
The incident came to a head in Lamb Street when police deployed road spikes to halt the vehicles.
The occupants fled but three were quickly arrested.
Police found two boys attempting to hide in the grounds of Murgon State School, while a third was arrested in Lamb Street.
A 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy face multiple charges, including breaking-and-entering and unlawful use of motor vehicles.
Police investigations are continuing.
