A charge against a Murgon father – who had been facing a Supreme Court trial over the snake-bite death of his son – has been dropped.

southburnett.com.au confirmed on Thursday the Director of Prosecutions entered a note against the court file on April 12 this year that the case would not proceed.

Kerrod James Frahm was charged with manslaughter in November 2022 over the death of his son Tristian, 11, from a snake bite a year earlier.

Police had alleged Mr Frahm failed to seek medical attention for the boy.

Last November, Kingaroy Magistrate Andrew Sinclair found there was sufficient evidence for the matter to go to trial and continued Mr Frahm’s bail.
