Murgon Mustangs’ Domestic Violence Awareness Round is on again this Saturday … it’s always a big day for junior players with a serious message for the older ones

After a week off to appreciate the NRL’s Magic Round, South Burnett Rugby League returns this weekend … with a big Saturday planned at Murgon.

It’s the Mustangs big Domestic Violence Awareness Round with junior and senior games being played across seven fields at Murgon Sportsgrounds.

The action will get under way on Friday night, with two Under 14s games:

  • 5:30pm – Cherbourg v Murgon (SBRL)
  • 6:30pm – Kingaroy v Wondai (SBRL)

Then on Saturday, there will be quick turnaround round robin games from Under 6s through to Under 12s, with games starting at 8:00am.

All games will 18 minutes long with two minutes between each.

More competition games will also be hitting the fields:

  • 11:00am – Under 15s – South Burnett Eagles v Across The Waves Tigers (BJRL)
  • 12:15pm – Under 16s – South Burnett Eagles v Across The Waves Tigers (BJRL)
  • 1:30pm – Under 17s – South Burnett Eagles v Toowoomba Brothers (TJRL)
  • 2:45pm – A Grade – Murgon Mustangs v Cherbourg Hornets
  • 4:30pm – A Grade – Kingaroy Red Ants v Wondai Wolves

Murgon Mustangs reckon there are 83 games in total scheduled to be played on Saturday!

Other rugby league games scheduled for this weekend include two Open games in the Wide Bay Female competition:

  • Saturday – Wondai v Bundaberg at Mundubbera
  • Sunday – Cherbourg v Fraser Coast at Maryborough

There is more Under 14 action at Chinchilla on Saturday:

  • 10:00am – Under 14s – Nanango Stags v Chinchilla Bulldogs
