The South Burnett Race Club will be holding its traditional Anzac Day Races at the Wondai Racecourse on Thursday.

The meeting is the 51st Anzac Day meeting held at the course, and proceeds will go to aid Legacy.

The Anzac Day meeting is always one of the biggest meetings the club holds every year.

This year promises to be no exception, with all marquee seating already booked out.

As usual, the meeting will feature an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, an undercover betting ring, barbecue and bar.

The traditional Fashions On The Field competition will have a “Poppies and Pearls” theme, and guests who dress to it can be in the running for some great prizes.

Gates will open at the track at 11:30am; the bar will open at 1:00pm; and Race 1 will leave the barriers at 1:30pm.

This year’s Anzac Day race meeting will feature five races and is being sponsored by Ken Mills Machinery, Wards Electrical, C&M Machining, Peries IGA Wondai, Harley’s Heavy Diesel, Ryan’s Butchery, GH Clothing Co, the Wondai Diggers Club, the Andresen family and Deb Frecklington MP.

Admission is $10 and patrons should bring cash because there’s no ATM or EFTPOS available at the track.
