The rain made conditions at Cherbourg difficult for the few hardy spectators that turned up

April 22, 2024

It was a wet start to the 2024 rugby league season at the weekend, with heavy rain affecting several scheduled games.

All junior games – from Under 6s through to Under 12s – went ahead as planned at Cherbourg on Saturday.

The Under 14s boys games on Friday night and Saturday were also unaffected but the two scheduled women’s games did not go ahead.

The other Wide Bay open women’s game – scheduled to be played at Maryborough on Sunday – was washed out.
