The Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash which occurred near Booubyjan on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the incident on the Burnett Highway, near Ross Road, about 12:10pm.
A police spokesperson said initial investigations indicated a car, with two occupants, was travelling south when it veered off the road and rolled.
The driver, a 77-year-old Yeppoon woman, was trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene.
The passenger, a 14-year-old Brisbane girl, was seriously injured.
She was airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Police have urged any witnesses – or anyone with dashcam or CCTV from the area around the time – to contact them.
