Graham House’s services have expanded since its new premises opened in 2019

Graham House Community Centre will be honouring its volunteers at special “CommUNITY Day” celebrations at its complex in Murgon on May 11.

The aim is to recognise the group’s volunteers but it is also an opportunity for South Burnett residents to enjoy a fun-filled program of events for the whole family.

There will be market stalls, prizes, raffles, activities and more from 8:00am to 11:00am.

The event is also an opportunity to fund out more about the services Graham House offers in the community.

Promotions Officer Aliesha Johnston said Graham House had grown and branched out a lot in the past few years, especially since moving into its new building.

“This is a great opportunity for locals to come along, check out what we do here at the Community Centre, and see not only how we can help you, but how you can help us,” she said.

“And it’s perfect timing for some family fun with Mother’s Day the next day.

“Don’t miss our Volunteer Appreciation ceremony at 11:00am. These guys do so much for us and our community, it’ll be great to see them all on stage receiving acknowledgement for their dedication.

“To say we have an army of volunteers is an understatement. Last year our Community Transport volunteers did a total of 535,429km in 16 vehicles and three buses. That’s a whopping 13 laps around Earth! Not to mention all the tasks our many other volunteers carry out daily.”
