The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club’s fifth annual gem show is set to sparkle at Wondai’s Sportsground this weekend.

More than 40 stalls will be filling the inside and outside of the Lions Pavilion, offering many items rarely seen anywhere else in the region.

Adults will be able to browse through beautiful hand-crafted jewellery alongside spectacular rock and mineral displays that SBGFC members have collected on fossicking trips all over Australia.

There’ll also be demonstrations and expert advice on all matters relating to gem hunting for those considering taking it up as a hobby.

And visitors who enjoy a bit of bartering will also find trade stalls selling everything from lapidary equipment to raw materials for gem-making.

There’ll also be lots of fun for children including sand sieving, Thunder Egg cutting, lucky dips, face painting and gem sorting.

Food and drinks will be available in the grounds as well, and there’ll be lucky door prizes and raffles on offer.

The Gem Show will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, April 6, and 9:00am to 2:00pm on Sunday, April 7.

Admission is just $5 for adults, and children aged 12 or below can get in for free.
