Flames were shooting from the window of a Kingaroy flat when fire crews arrived on the scene on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the block of four flats, on the corner of Albert and Doonkuna streets, at 12:38pm.

A QFES spokesperson said four fire crews were called to the incident.

“When crews arrived a unit was fully involved in flames,” the spokesperson said.

“Flames were coming out the rear of the building.”

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus while they worked to put out the flames.

Their efforts prevented the fire from spreading to the other three flats in the building.

The blaze was completely extinguished just before 1:00pm, with no injuries reported.

The spokesperson said fire crews had accounted for the safety of all occupants of the building.

Police had a section of Albert and Doonkuna streets, from Mary to Jarrah streets, blocked off while emergency crews were at the scene.

A police spokesperson said the cause of the fire was not suspicious.

It is believed to have started in the kitchen area.
