Benarkin State School has been congratulated by local MP Deb Frecklington on its purchase of a defibrillator, believed to be the first in the Benarkin community.

Mrs Frecklington officially “opened” the installation during a recent visit to the school.

“This is a great initiative by Benarkin State School who have fully funded its purchase and installation on school grounds,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“The defibrillator is available for the use of the whole community, and it has been put in an easy-to-access location on the school tuckshop wall so that anyone who has a family member or friend experiencing an emergency can come and utilise it.

“Well done to Benarkin State School principal Kerry Christie and her team for making this happen.”

Mrs Frecklington also presented 2024 school leaders, Mikayla Bear and Koby Bear, with their badges during her visit.

“I wish all the new leaders and the school community a great year ahead,” Mrs Frecklington said.
