More details have been revealed by police about two violent vehicle thefts, believed to be linked, which occurred earlier this week in Murgon and Wondai.

Police were called about 9:30pm on Tuesday to a house in Wright Way, Murgon, in relation to a robbery.

A man armed with a knife allegedly approached a woman and demanded her car keys.

He then drove off in the woman’s grey Ford Ranger.

Police were then called about 5:30am on Wednesday to a carjacking in McCord Street, Wondai.

A group of people in the stolen Ford Ranger approached a woman while she was sitting in her car, a Hyundai Tucson.

One of the group allegedly threatened the woman with an object before smashing the driver’s side window.

The victim managed to flee her vehicle.

At least one of the offenders then got in and drove off, in the same direction as the stolen Ford Ranger.

A police spokesperson said investigations into both incidents were continuing.
