Josh Fearby hits a boundary to bring up his century for Kingaroy Services Blue … he was caught out next ball

December 1, 2023

Kingaroy Services Blue set a daunting target for stablemates Kingaroy Services Orange in their hometown cricket derby at Taabinga State School last Saturday.

Blues won the toss and batted first.

A century by Joshua Fearby (101 off 64 balls), backed up at the other end by Fletcher Black (62 not out), helped Blues to be 5/284 at the end of their 40 overs.

James Maxwell (31) and Glenn Kelly (21) also enjoyed good starts.

Samual Wilson (1/20 off three overs) and Terry Forbes (1/46 off five) finished with the best bowling figures for Oranges.

In reply, Oranges were all out 131 in the 39th over.

After retiring hurt last week, Justin Labinsky came back and top-scored with 41 runs.

Clinton Blanch (19) and Travis Bice (13) also added valuable runs.

However, the Blues bowlers proved too strong.

Fletcher Black ripped through the tail, taking four wickets – and conceding just five runs – off 4.3 overs, including two maidens.

Timothy Blanch took 1/16 off four but it was the key wicket of Labinsky.

Glen Culling finished with 2/5 off six overs.

Kingaroy Services Blue’s Fletcher Black lives dangerously … he finished 62 not out
