Looking for a quirky and unusual Christmas present? Then why not drop into the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery and have a look at some of the items they currently have on sale.

The gallery officially launched its annual Pop-Up Shop last Friday night, with guests browsing the many pieces on display.

There’s artwork, craftwork and everything in between – ceramics, glassware, jewellery, handbags, leatherwork, woodwork – all made by South Burnett artists and artisans.

“This is an opportunity for our local artists to showcase their work and sell a little bit so they can keep on making these beautiful things,” gallery curator Fran van Vegchel said at the opening.

The Pop-Up Shop will be open every day until December 23.

The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is located opposite the Peanut Silos at 126 Haly Street, Kingaroy.

It is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and weekends from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

It was also a sad night with the retirement of long-time gallery volunteer Ros Smith, centre … gallery curator Fran Van Vegchel, left, and Fay Stumm presented Ros with a bunch of flowers
