Detectives are investigating a string of incidents which occurred in Murgon during the early hours of Tuesday.

An attempted burglary was reported at a house in Stephens Street East about 2:30am.

A police spokesperson said the residents awoke after hearing an attempted break-in.

The would-be thieves did not gain entry and it is believed nothing was stolen.

About 30 minutes later residents in a house in Palmer Street, Murgon were awoken by their house shaking.

They looked out a window and saw their vehicle being driven out of the driveway.

The thieves hit a support beam for the veranda and crashed into a parked car before abandoning the stolen vehicle and running away.

The police spokesperson said both the house and two vehicles suffered substantial damage.

Then between 4:00am and 4:30am, an unsuccesful attempt was made to enter another home in Stephens Street East, but the intruders were foiled by a locked front door.

Residents in the area have been asked to review their CCTV and contact PoliceLink on 131-444  if they have any information that could assist investigators.
