2023 KSHS captain Karl Macasaet and fellow student Jessica Town arrived in a classic FB Holden

November 17, 2023

Have you noticed how fast the pace of life seems to be these days? This was certainly the case at the 2023 Kingaroy State High School formal on Friday night.

No soon as one student had stepped out of a vehicle in Glendon Street, another car was lining up to offload its eager occupants.

But there was good reason for all the haste … 85 vehicles to get through, and a storm threatening on the horizon!

The graduates looked stunning, of course, in their gowns and suits (and there were even a couple of top hats).

The vehicles also were gleaming, with more Mustangs than you’d find at Mt Panorama and more Rams than you’d see at a sheep sale.

There were old vehicles, like a 1936 Bedford, and many classics, including Chevs, Commodores, Chryslers and a Customline.

There was even a Harley-Davidson!

After proceeding up the red carpet, the students entered the Town Hall to enjoy their big night.

Footnote: We apologise if we missed anyone, but you were just going too fast!

The crowd of well-wishers packed the Glendon Street Forecourt, the footpaths and along the centre parking area in Glendon Street
The graduates may have been having a good time but the owner of this Holden certainly wasn’t … the vehicle appeared to overheat and blow a radiator hose at the end of the arrivals, and had to be pushed away
