Tingoora Vikings continued their unbeaten run in the 2023 South Burnett cricket competition by downing Wooroolin Warriors by five wickets on Saturday.

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat, but were bowled out for 199 in the 32nd over.

John McDonald top-scored with 85 runs (off 51 balls) and Nikolas Heness added a handy 22.

Tavis Hartwig (3/30 off eight overs) and Grant Spring (3/39 off eight) did the damage for Vikings.

In reply, Vikings were 5/205 when they overhauled the target in the 33rd over.

Top scorers, captain Tavis Hartwig (86) and Keegan Wright (65), both ended the game not out.

Hayden Donohue (2/33 off seven overs) and Archie Koehler (1/30 off eight) finished with the best bowling figures for Wooroolin.

Round 3 of the Gympie A Grade competition was played on Saturday.

  • Wooroolin Warriors (9/152)  def. Gympie Harlequins (140 all out) by 12 runs at Murgon Sportsground

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat.

The game was played at Murgon because Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy is still under preparation.

Opener Jackson Kerkow top-scored with 49 runs while Kieran Askin hit 20.

The same pair also finished with the best bowling figures for Warriors: Askin 4/32 off eight overs; and Kerkow 2/18 off seven.
