The first of the South Burnett Regional Council’s three “Grooving In The Gardens” free, outdoor live music events attracted a good crowd to Ringsfield House’s gardens on Sunday.

People gathered under the shade sails to listen to The Hinterlanders band play on the verandah of the coach house at the rear of the historic building in Nanango.

Residents relaxed on folding chairs and enjoyed picnic lunches which they had brought along with them.

Cr Jane Erkens said the music started at 11:00am and ran until 2:00pm, with people dropping in for various lengths of times.

“We probably had more than 200 people there across the day; people were coming and going,” Cr Erkens said.

The next free concert in the “Grooving In The Gardens” series will be held at Ringsfield on Sunday, September 3, with the Gidgee Pickers.

Then on Sunday, October 8, the Swing Beans will be entertaining on Ringsfield’s lawns.

“Grooving In The Gardens” is being supported by the jointly funded State / Federal Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
