Nanango Race Club will be holding its Nanango Cup Race Meeting at the Lee Park Racecourse on Saturday.

This will be the first race meeting held in the South Burnett for the new racing year, and it will feature a bumper card of eight races.

As usual, the annual Blessing Of The Jockeys ceremony will be held before the first race, and the winners of Nanango Race Club’s 2022-23 Premierships will also be announced early in the day.

All other features of the races – such as the bar, barbecue and race club canteen – will operate as usual, and undercover seating will be available as well as lawn seating.

A Fashions competition – which has a Classic Racewear theme – will be running as usual, and racegoers can also be in the running to win one of the 20 free betting vouchers bookmakers have donated to celebrate the meeting, which is always one of the biggest of the year.

The meeting’s feature race is the $10,000 Nanango Cup, and this year it has attracted a strong field of 10 contenders.

This year’s Cup will be run as Race 7.

Buses will be leaving Glendon Street in Kingaroy at noon and the Fitzroy Hotel at 12:30pm.

Gates will open about 10:30am and Race 1 will leave the barriers at 12:25pm.
