South Burnett Saints clocked up their first victory of the season last Saturday, downing the Toowoomba Tigers at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

The Saints’ men – emboldened by the return of James Packer to their ranks – were ahead 11.11-77 to 6.12-48 at full-time, after leading at every change.

Saints’ goals were kicked by Jack Mines (2), Brad Pressnell, Fletcher Brown, Jake Miles, James Packer, Jeremy Zaccardi, Kelly Salmon, Mick Freeman, Nathan Trace and Ned O’Connor.

This Saturday, the Saints will hit the road again, taking on the Warwick Redbacks at Warwick, while the U14s will be in action against the Tigers in Toowoomba.

The Saints’ women’s next game will be in Kingaroy on July 15 as part of the club’s big Heritage Day celebrations.
