Two LifeFlight helicopters flew two critically injured people to hospital after an incident on a private property near Cooyar on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed the pair – a man aged in his 70s, and a woman aged in her 60s – suffered traumatic injuries in a single-vehicle crash,

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter and the Toowoomba LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service chopper were called to help shortly before 3:00pm.

Both pilots landed their aircraft near the scene of the incident.

The RACQ LifeFlight chopper airlifted the man to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The woman was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital by the LifeFlight SGAS crew.
