A touring exhibition from the Western Downs Regional Council highlighting the beauty of the Bunya Mountains has taken over the Wondai Regional Art Gallery for June.

“Response To The Bunyas” features a selection of works by 24 local artists which were first exhibited as an outdoor pop-up display at the “Arts On Top” forum on the Bunyas in 2021.

Well-known Bunya Mountains artist Kay Joyce is one of the featured artists whose works are on display.

The gallery was packed on the opening night, last Friday, mainly due to all the young artists featured in Kidz Korner.

Artworks by Wheatlands State School students are filling this space, and the young artists brought along their proud friends and relatives to show them off.

The school’s young musicians also performed before the appreciative crowd, which has now become an annual tradition at the gallery.
