Artwork by former South Burnett resident Danielle Leedie has been selected to feature on this year’s National Reconciliation Week (May 27-June 3) poster.

The striking pink poster has been popping up in advertisements and across the internet for the past few days.

Danielle, who is now based in Ipswich, is an accomplished graphic artist who draws deeply upon her Bidjara and Wakka Wakka heritage.

Her designs have been incorporated in a range of items over recent years, including textiles, murals, jewellery and greeting cards.

For the National Reconciliation Week poster, Danielle has incorporated symbols of people travelling and gathering in a “Voice” bubble connecting generations.

She created the artwork in collaboration with Carbon Creative for Reconciliation Australia.

“Reconciliation holds immense personal meaning for me, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to share my perspective,” she said.
