South Burnett Saints’ Kiara Wright has been selected in the 2023 South Queensland women’s AFL squad.

AFL Queensland announced on Tuesday the men’s and women’s squads for the intrastate clash with North Queensland in Cairns next month.

A total of 61 men and 53 women have been named in the squads, hailing from the Darling Downs, Hervey Bay, south-east Queensland and northern NSW.

Final teams of 22 players will be announced closer to the match.

Female Head Coach Jaimie Stanton said the women’s squad had a good mix of experienced and emerging talent.

Training for both squads will kick off on May 31 and will continue weekly up until the Cairns clash.
