Four police officers have been injured and three police vehicles damaged in an incident at Meringandan on Wednesday afternoon.

Police attempted to intercept an allegedly stolen Hino truck on Goombungee-Meringandan Rd.

A police spokesperson said two male officers suffered serious injuries after a police vehicle was rammed about 1:30pm.

One officer was transported by road ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital in Toowoomba while the other was airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said this officer, aged in his 50s, suffered multiple injuries.

A short time later, the truck hit another two police cars before coming to a stop in Kleinton.

Two police officers suffered minor injuries in this incident.

The sole occupant of the truck, a 45-year-old man, was taken into custody at the scene.

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam vision has been urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
