The South Burnett Saints hosted their first home games of the season on Saturday at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

It was a particularly big day for the club’s Under 14s Mixed players who had the opportunity for the first time to play in front of a home crowd.

They didn’t bring home a win but it was a great experience for the young players.

The Saints’ women were also celebrating after notching up their first win of the season, a big win over Coolaroo.

The women got off to a great start, kicking two six-pointers within the first few minutes.

At the final siren, Saints Women were ahead 6.11-47 to 0.1-1.

Saints’ goalkickers were Kiara Wright (3), Alexandria Alifrangis, Angela O’Brien and Ellie-Mae Dodt.

The Saints’ men had less luck against the Roos, going down 12.25-97 to 6.6-42.

Saints’ goals were kicked by Fletcher Brown, Jack Mines, Jake Larsen, Keegan Wright, Mitchell Bailey and Nathan Trace.

Next Saturday, the Men’s and Women’s games will be against the Goondiwindi Hawks in Goondiwindi.

The U14s will be facing the Roos again, this time at Rockville Park in Toowoomba.
