The Burnett Brahmans – featuring a number of South Burnett players – defeated Central Highlands 22-18 in the 47th Battalion Plate Final at the weekend in Emerald.

George Fisher starred for the team, scoring three tries and three conversions.

The fourth Brahmans’ try was scored by Vincent Law.

Toowoomba Clydesdales won the Trophy Final 24-10 against the Rockhampton Rustlers.

In the women’s competition, the Wide Bay Bulls women were defeated 20-8 by the Gladstone Raidettes, and 32-0 by Central Highlands in Round 1.

Wondai Wolves’ Holly Patton captained the Bulls team and her performance led to her being selected for the Central Queensland Crows.

The Sunshine Coast Falcons won the Trophy Final 20-12 against the Rockhampton Rustlers.

South Burnett Eagles drew with the Dalby Devils in their Round 1 Toowoomba Junior Rugby League U15s game played at Nanango on Saturday.

At full-time the score was 22-all.

South Burnett tries were scored by Zac Harris (2), Darren Andersen and Will Webber.

Lawson Braithwaite kicked three conversions.

The Eagles will face Souths Tigers next weekend in Toowoomba.

The Eagles downed Dalby 34-4 in their TJRL U16s game.

South Burnett tries were scored by Darryl Gyemore (2), Shamus Cobbo (2), Thomas Larsen, Ziggy Pidgeon and Rory Crumpton.

Liam Irwin, Darryl Gyemore and Liam Irwin kicked a goal each.

Next Weekend

Junior games will be played on Saturday at Ian “Bunny” Pearce Oval in Blackbutt: Under 6s and Under 8s from 8:00am, Under 10s from 9:40am and Under 12s from noon.

Two Under 14s games will be played at Fred Kassulke Oval in Nanango: Nanango v Chinchilla at 2:00pm; and Cherbourg v Kingaroy at 3:00pm.

There are no A Grade games scheduled.

South Burnett Eagles Under 15s and Under 16s will take on Souths Tigers’ teams at Gold Park in Toowoomba.
