Kingaroy already has the Lady Bjelke-Petersen Community Hospital … now Darling Downs Health is considering dedicating a portion of the public hospital in honour of the late Senator

April 14, 2023

Darling Downs Health are surveying the public about whether a part of the new Kingaroy Hospital should be dedicated to the late Lady Bjelke-Petersen in honour of her contribution to the community.

An online feedback form suggests naming either the Maternity Unit or the Outpatient Clinic at the public hospital after the former Queensland Senator and wife of the late Premier, Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen.

Printed feedback forms are also available from Kingaroy Hospital or can be downloaded here (215kb PDF).

The consultation process opened this week and closes on Monday (April 16).

  1. Thank you for publishing this – first I have heard of it. I have made my submission on-line as time is running out.

  2. The Premier promised this in her speech at Lady Flo’s funeral. It doesn’t need a vote – it should just happen
