The Murgon Cricket Club completed its domination of local competitions on Saturday, locking in a victory in the Gympie A Grade Two-Day competition.

This followed the club taking out the Gympie A Grade One-Day and T20 competitions earlier in the season, and securing the trophy in the local South Burnett senior competition.

The Two-Day final, between Murgon Crusaders and Wooroolin Warriors, was played across two weekends at Keith Manthey Oval in Gympie.

Murgon won the toss and sent Warriors into bat.

In their first innings, Wooroolin were all out for 160.

Hayden Wieck (50) and Kieran Askin (29) were the top scorers.

Murgon had an 83-run lead at the end of their innings, with opener Nathan Roderick (84) and Brenton Polzin (51) setting the pace.

Wooroolin were all out for 88 in their second innings, leaving Murgon to get just six runs for victory.

Roderick was bowled for a duck facing his first ball from Jason Koy, but Lachlan Zelinski (5) and Nicholas Sanewski (4) easily made the necessary runs.

Murgon’s best bowlers were Tony Dugdell who took 5/23 in Warriors’ first innings and 1/13 in the second.

Fletcher Brown took 4/24 for Wooroolin in Murgon’s first innings.
