Bookarama at Kingaroy Town Hall has always been a highlight of the year for book lovers, but this year there was a bonus!

On Saturday, Bookarama coincided with Harmony Day celebrations in the Town Hall Forecourt, which meant visitors could take a break from their book browsing to enjoy a mix of dancing, music and singing on their doorstep.

Inside the Town Hall, little ones were kept entertained by book readings from South Burnett Libraries’ staff while their parents and carers perused the literally thousands of books available to buy at bargain prices.

St John’s Lutheran School P&F took over running Bookarama in 2020, but that first year was cancelled due to the pandemic restrictions.

They have now run it successfully for three years.

Volunteers spend many weekends ahead of the two-day event, sorting and pricing the donated books which are sold to support P&F activities.
