A young boy was airlifted to hospital after being injured at the Maidenwell bull ride on Saturday evening.

QAS paramedics were called to the incident, at the Maidenwell Oval, at 6:43pm.

The boy was flown by a LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition, accompanied by his mother.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the boy had been riding a bull when he was bucked off.

The beast then turned and stood on the boy’s leg, breaking his femur.

The bull ride is an important fundraiser for the Tanduringie State School P&C.
