Another 17 deaths were added to Queensland Health’s official COVID-19 tally during the latest reporting period.

This takes the toll in Queensland to 2818 since the pandemic began in early 2020.

Statistics released on Friday show there were 247 people being treated for COVID-19 in Queensland public hospitals, including three patients in intensive care.

Figures for private hospital patients are no longer reported.

Figures released by the Federal Government on Friday show 682 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in residential aged care facilities across Australia during the past week, including 179 in Queensland.
