Rain washed out the South Burnett Cricket Association’s planned big Saturday of Finals games at the weekend.

The Preliminary Final – between Wooroolin Warriors and Tingoora Vikings – to determine who would take on Murgon in the Senior Grand Final was abandoned.

Because Tingoora finished higher on the competition ladder, Wooroolin will now miss out and Vikings will take up the second Grand Final spot.

This game will be played at the Wondai Cricket Ground from 12:30pm on Saturday.

Also abandoned was the Stage 1 game between Nanango and Kingaroy Little Butchers.

Kingaroy Wamuran Timbers and Kingaroy Pineview Westlink were declared joint Stage 2 premiers after their Final match was abandoned.

Kingaroy was declared the winner of the Stage 3 competition, after their Final with Nanango was washed out.

Gympie A Grade

Wooroolin Warriors defeated Gympie Colts by nine wickets on Day 2 of Round 5 of the A Grade Two-day competition, played at Jack Ison Oval in Gympie.

Colts were all out for 75 in their first innings.

Warriors began Day 2 with 162 runs and were all out for 176 in the 45th over.

Colts were all out for 105 in their second innings, setting Warriors an easy target of five runs for victory.

This took Warriors just two overs to achieve but Colts still managed to draw blood, taking the wicket of opener Fletcher Brown for just two runs.

It will be an all-South Burnett Grand Final on Saturday, with Murgon Crusaders taking on Wooroolin Warriors from 12:30pm at Keith Manthey Oval, Gympie.
