The two-storey wooden Queenslander was well engulfed in flames when the first fire crews arrived at the scene, shortly after 1:00pm.

More crews were called for back-up, with eventually three urban and five rural units in operation.

Water trucks were also called in to keep up a supply to the firefighters.

Ergon Energy, police and QAS also attended the fire, but all occupants of the building had managed to escape.

A QFES spokesperson said at one stage, firefighters wore breathing equipment to get close to the structure to disconnect gas.

Rural crews worked to stop the fire spreading to nearby paddocks.

Several vehicles, including a caravan, were also destroyed in the blaze.

By 4:10pm, the fire was under control and firefighters began mopping up.

They were still on scene at 6:15pm.

A QFES fire investigator examined the building on Sunday but because of the level of damage the cause of the fire was so far undetermined.

A police investigation is continuing.
