A man aged in his 20s had been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after being run over by a truck near Proston on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident, on a rural property near Proston-Boondooma Road, at 10:37am.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was also despatched to the scene.

A QAS spokesperson said the man suffered head and arm injuries.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said it was believed the man was working on the truck’s brakes when the vehicle rolled backwards.

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
