A man aged in his 50s suffered minor burns after his car left the road and caught on fire on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Burnett Highway, between Redgate Road and Jeffries Road, about 9:20pm.

A QFES spokesperson said it appeared the vehicle had hit a guard rail.

Two fire crews which were called to the scene quickly extinguished the flames.

QAS paramedics transported the man in a stable condition to Kingaroy Hospital.

Fire crews were called to extinguish a mower which caught on fire, sparking a small grass fire on Sunday morning.

They were called to a property on Martin Crescent at Benarkin North about 9:30am.

The quickly doused down the mower and wet down surrounding grass to make the area safe.
