A man aged in his 60s was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious condition with chest injuries after a truck crash on the D’Aguilar Highway at lunchtime on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the incident at South Nanango at 11:44am.

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said the man was believed to be the driver of a 4WD involved in the collision.

He was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be cut free by QFES rescue crews.

A second person, believed to be an elderly woman from the same vehicle, was transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

The RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter managed to land on the highway near the incident.

A third person, believed to be a man in his 40s, was uninjured.
