Murgon RSL Sub-Branch is one of four local organisations to receive funding to hold commemorative events

South Burnett ex-service organisations have received almost $20,000 in funding from the State Government’s Anzac Day Trust program.

Successful applicants were:

  • Wondai RSL Sub-Branch – $4225 for welfare staff, members’ functions, hospital visits/flowers, commemorative events and administration
  • Nanango RSL Sub-Branch – $4225 for meals/food/clothing, members’ functions, hospital visits/flowers and commemorative events
  • Murgon RSL Sub-Branch – $9253 for welfare staff, education bursaries, members’ functions, hospital visits/flowers, funerals, financial assistance, commemorative events
  • Murgon RSL Sub-Branch (Goomeri Chapter) – $1457.48 for members’ functions and commemorative events.

Overall, the State Government provided more than $1.6 million in grants to over 200 ex-service organisations.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the latest funding in State Parliament on Friday.
