Two people were injured – one seriously – when a car and a B-double truck carrying refrigerated meat collided on the Brisbane Valley Highway at Lake Wivenhoe on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to the incident just after 5:00pm.

Traffic on the highway was blocked while emergency crews were on the scene.

QAS paramedics, and the crew of an RACQ LifeFlight helicopter which landed on the highway, assessed two people at the scene.

A man in his 50s, believed to be in the truck which overturned, was transported by road ambulance to Ipswich Hospital in a stable condition.

A man in his 20s, who was cut free by fire crews from his wrecked vehicle just before 6:00pm, was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

A man and a woman were transported by ambulance to Gayndah Hospital with minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash at Ban Ban Springs in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the Burnett Highway at 2:53am.
