A 29-year-old man has lost his licence for six months – and been fined $1653 – after being stopped by police on the Burnett Highway at Moffatdale.

The man was pulled over as part of Queensland Police’s “Operation Uniform Spring Break” which was targeting dangerous driving behaviour during the September school holidays.

Police allege the Fraser Coast man was doing 156km/h in a 100km/h zone.

The Holden Commodore was also carrying a five-year-old child as a passenger, who was fortunately restrained in the back seat.

Murgon police have charged several people with unlicensed driving offences:

  • A 29-year-old Marsden man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on November 8 charged with unlicensed driving and speeding after being pulled over on Lamb Street, Murgon, on September 29.
  • A 22-year-old Browns Plains man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 25 charged with driving while disqualified and failing to wear a seatbelt after being stopped on the Bunya Highway at Murgon on September 30.
  • A 27-year-old Tiaro manwill appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 11 charged with driving whiled disqualified after he was stopped on the Bunya Highway at Murgon on September 26.

As well, a 33-year-old Cherbourg woman was issued two fines, totalling $565, for allegedly driving an unregistered motor vehicle while her driver’s licence was expired. She was stopped on Lamb Street, Murgon, on September 30.

  • A 55-year-old Goomeri man was fined $460 for driving an unregistered motor vehicle after being stopped on Herterick Street, Murgon, on September 27.
  • A 32-year-old Kingaroy woman was fined $1078 for failing to wear a seatbelt when she was stopped on Krebs Street, Murgon.
  • A 57-year-old Mondure woman was fined $460 for driving an unregistered motor vehicle on the Bunya Highway, Murgon, on September 27.
  • A 46-year-old Helensvale man was fined $268 for driving a motor vehicle with a passenger riding illegally on Haager Drive, Moffatdale, on October 2.
