South Burnett Saints bowed out of the Darling Downs AFL competition on Saturday, going down to fourth-placed University Cougars at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.
But for the second week in a row, the Saints managed six goals, equal to their season’s best.
Goal kickers were Mitchell Francis (2), Ben Presnell (2), Blake Jacobsen and Ben Banks.
The final score was 17.15-117 to 6.4-40.
The major and minor semi-finals of the competition will be played this weekend.
In Toowoomba, top-placed Coolaroo will take on second spot South Toowoomba Bombers in the major semi-final, while at Goondiwindi, the Hawks will face University Cougars in the sudden-death minor semi-final.
